I have an old mp3 player with a 6v battery and a 3.3v hard drive, I found an ssd that I can swap in but it's 5v and I don't know if that means it won't work or not. Does anyone know anything about voltages?

Edit: the battery is 3.7v not 6v, I was confusing it with the ac adapter, I assume the 5v ssd definitely won't work?

wouldn't like to say, I couldnt find info on anyone else adding a ssd drive.
So hopefully someone who does may be able to give you a definitive answer.

Unless it produces fabulous sound....
not sure if its worth spending that kind of money ..when you can put a 128gb sd card in a smart phone instead.

you're not gonna get anywhere near the kind of sound quality or battery life from a smartphone as you'll get out of a digital audio player

also the iphone doesn't even have a microsd slot, lol
