SSD and HDD Setup help needed

Hey so I built a new PC a few weeks ago, everything works perfectly.

I have a 500GB SSD for my OS, Programmes, few games, etc.

And a 1TB WD Black edition HDD.

So My SSD is C drive and my HDD is H drive, it would be cool if I could have a "My Documents and stuff on my HDD.

Is there a specific thing you are suppose to do when you have 2 different drives in your PC?

I've heard the word "partitioning" but I'm kind of a noob.

I've just bee manually changing destinations of downloads and stuff, am I doing it mega wrong?
