Question SSD and NVME only show up sometimes?

I updated the bios for my b450m pro4 to 3.5, checked for driver updates for windows 10, formatted and partitioned each drive. I even got windows installed on the NVME.
HOWEVER
After every regular shut down both drives (hp 950ex NVME 1TB, Samsung 870 evo 500gb) disappear, when I shut down and then flip off the actual power switch on the supply then flip it on it works just fine, until I power down again. Any suggestions would be awesome, I find it unlikely that both drives are defective.
