Question SSD and RAM Compatibility

Hey, I’ve been looking for quite a while and I haven’t gotten to any conclusion. I have an Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard and I would like to install an SSD, for what I know, as long as the MB has a SATA 2 or SATA 3 port, any SSD with those specs should fit, I may be wrong. I wanted to buy 1 ADATA Ultimate Su800 512gb SATA III 2.5” 7mm, but when I asked the vendor of the SSD he told me it wasn’t compatible with my MB, since then I’ve been confused on why is this, there might be something else that I’m not seeing.

Also, I have a RAM Memory HyperX 8GB@823MHz. If I install another HyperX 8GB@2400MHz. Would it work?

Adding Memory is hit and miss even if identical. I don't see why the SATA drive wouldn't work.

That drive should work on your board just fine.
As far as the memory goes, it's a crapshoot. It may work fine, it may not work at all. (I'm not going to give it good odds though)

Any Sata SSD will work in any Sata slot.
As for Ram - make sure its the same VOLTAGE @ that speed - voltage is the main problem with mixing ram, but not always the only problem.

Not true in all case. For example true 4k drives will not work with controllers that only support 512b
