i recently installed a ssd to my pc which already has a 1tb hdd in with everything on it. when i installed windows 8.1 i unplugged my hdd, and after i installed it, i set the ssd to boot option 1 and when windows loads in comes to a clean desktop, my hdd is there but when i try to open a program from it it says im missing a .dll file from my computer, so what im asking is how do i get my old desktop back and my pc the way it was and just use the ssd as the boot drive

It's not really that simple. When install windows on a new hard drive you need to reinstall your old programs again, this time choosing most of them to install on your older drive letter. In other words, not the C: drive. This is usually done in custom installation option when installing software. All of your data is still on your old hard drive, but windows registry changes that were made during installation are now all set back to normal. This is why you need to reinstall your programs again. It tells windows where the data is and how the program interacts with windows.

It's recommended you do a clean install like this every so often anyway. It keeps your computer fresh, and should work faster.

Also, when i go into screen resolution, it says my monitor is something like generic, but before my ssd, it said my monitor was dell... And now the screen looks all jacked up, and there isnt an option to change it back to dell
