SSD as secondary drive for 3D graphics rendering and autocad in dell xps m1730 laptop

I’m looking to get a new secondary drive in my dell xps m1730 laptop for use with autocad maya 3dsmax vue and plant factory 3D graphics rendering software but I wanna get something with fast read and write times of the 3D graphics files and their various dependencies. Would an SSD be worth the money or maybe an SSHD???
