SSD boot/installation problems

I'm not sure whether this is a problem or just the way it works, I installed Windows 10 on a brand new SSD, everything runs great, but I do feel that the SSD is losing boot speed using Windows Boot Manager to boot. When running my HDD I never noticed Boot manager before. Also when I put SSD to boot priority, it just boots to a black screen, so the only way to boot is using Boot Manager. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey there, Chad!

I'd recommend you to go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and search for any AHCI/SATA/chipset driver updates. Another thing you should do is check if you've actually enabled AHCI for the SATA mode of the SSD in BIOS. While checking the updates there, you should also see if you have the latest SSD firmware installed: http://www.storagereview.com/how_upgrade_ssd_firmware

If these don't help, you should probably try resetting BIOS using one of the methods here: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
However, keep in mind that this would get your BIOS settings back to factory defaults, so you'd need to re-configure them afterwards.

Hope this helps you! Good luck! :)
