[SOLVED] ssd caching or ssd boot drive?

my laptop (asus s550ca base model) is so sluggish that opening and typing on ms word still lags and the windows boot time is like 3 or more minutes. so im planning to upgrade it with more ramand from mech hard drive to a ssd but i saw in the spec website of my laptop, i saw "3GB SSD Cache" and i researched a bit about it and it says it makes the system faster and they claim ts cheaper. so is there any difference between a 240g ssd boot drive and using a 128 gb msata ssd as cache?

I'd pick up a regular SSD and not bother with a cache SSD which in it's time was cutting edge but in today's world, you're going to get better speeds with a regular SSD. Might also want to read through this thread.

An actual SSD for the OS and applications is by far the better option.
250GB or larger.
