What size ssd as L2 cache should I use to pair with 2tb hdd. I'm thinking of 500gb(considering modern games having huge assets these days) . Will that be enough or too much? And how effective is primocache software? I'm basically planning to use hdd as steam drive, with most other apps and os installed separately on other raid0 ssd setup.

Solution
  1. RAID 0 with SSD's is pretty pointless. In some cases slower, due to the RAID overhead.
  2. A cache on the HDD is only good for repetitive data. Going to a new level, for instance...that would be read at regular HDD speed.

I find raid setup effective in my case. I feel some performance improvement over non raid ssd. Anyways back to ssd caching, I'm going to use hdd for games I play often. Just want to know the right capacity of SSD.
