Question SSD can't be initialized

I just bought this drive today, (970 EVO) when trying to initialize it i don't get the option to initialize.

. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not quite sure what to do from here. I've tried switching the drive in both m.2 slots on my motherboard but I can't seem to get it to work.

Asus Prime z370
Intel Core i5 8600
Running Windows 10

When you rt cl, what are the options ?

Initialize disk is greyed out. Then its offline. Then help

Sounds like a defective drive. If you have allready tried in both M2 sockets and installed the driver and it still shows offline in disk managment.

I feel I've exhausted all my options
