My motherboard is an ASUS P6T deluxe v2.
I want to replace my hard disc drive with a 480 GB SSD. I'm concerned about possible compatibility issues.
I've done some research and am not comfortable with my lack of tech savvy to make a decision.
Thank you in advance.

My Build:

Motherboard- ASTS P6TV2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX

Graphics cards- Two EVGA 01G-P3-1180-AR GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit DDR3

PCI Express 2.0 x 18 HDCP ready SLI supported

Power supply- Corsair CMPSU 1000HX 1000W ATX12v 2.2 / EPS12v 2/91 SLI ready

CPU- Intel Core I7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130 w quad core.

Flash Drive- OCZ Diesel 4GB single channel flash drive (USB 2.0 portable)

It will work fine. I moved to a primary SSD back when I still had a Core2Duo based system older than yours. As said above it will be bottlenecked by the SATA 2 interface but it will still be far and away faster than any mechanical hard drive you can buy. Still very much a worthy upgrade.

It SHOULD work but I rad the specs for this board and it doesn't seem to support 6Gb/s transfer speeds so you won't see the full speed of the SSD. You will see an improvement in how fast the system boots and shutdown. Applications should also load faster and data writes will also be faster than the drive you have now. The only real way to get the true speed of the SSD is to replace the m/b.
