Hello all,

Apologies if this is quite a frequent question.
My PC is fairly old and I am worrying about its compatibility with an SSD I would like to get as a second disk (and if compatible, whether this will improve performance)
Motherboard: https://microdream.co.uk/wj770-dell-dimension-3100-e310-0jc474-jc474-socket-lga775-motherboard.html
Cuurent disk: https://www.hdsentinel.com/storageinfo_details.php?lang=en&model=WDC WD1600JS

Disk I would like to add:

Thank you for any advice

That SATA SSD you're looking at is rated for SATA 3 speeds but your board has SATA 2 ports meaning that the SSD will not be running at it's full potential. That being said, yes it'll work on your old hardware.

Thank you very much for this reply. However, out of interest, where can you see that the board is SATA 2 and not just SATA ?
