Hi,

I recently finished building my pc and for the most part it has been running great the past two days, however; today while playing a game my game computer froze and went to a blue screen which told me that I would have to recover windows. I went to the BIOS and my Crucial MX100 SSD had disappeared from the boot options. When I went to storage devices it was still there but was detected as an HDD. After I changed the device type to SSD and rebooted my pc started up windows just fine. Does anybody know why this happened and what I should do to fix it? I'm assuming if it happened once it will happen again.

Not sure what happened. I would make sure that both the SATA, and the power cable were fully plugged into the drive. Also, get any data off the drive just in case. Download the new Crucial Storage Executive software (link below) that can monitor the drive and look for an impending failure. Finally, there is a 3 year warranty on the drive just in case.
