Hi all,
I'm having a strange issue with my computer where is SSD is becoming undetected after about 5-10 minutes of completely functional use, causing it to crash.
My computer:
Mobo: Aorus Master-cf z390
CPU: Intel core i7-8700 3.7ghz
RAM: Teamgroup 16gb ddr4
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit unregistered
PSU: Codegen 1100W ATX Dual - 12v
2 1tb Western digital
1 2tb Seagate
250gb Samsung SSD 840 EVO (drive that disappears)
In my testing I've tried a couple of approaches, none of it working:
1. Switched SATA port on motherboard connecting ssd and switched power supply cable.
2. Replaced the SATA cable and optimised BIOS settings (had a warning they weren't).
3. Replaced the PSU with an identical spare one I had around(I believe this rules out psu).
I have recently updated a couple parts of my PC including the motherboard, cpu and ram.
My current theory is that I damaged my motherboard when installing it and that's causing the issue.
I believe I had a similar issue before I upgraded these components, however, as it was happening on one of my harddrives, with nothing on it, I rarely noticed or cared. However now that it's my SSD in question it is definitely an issue.
When the computer blue screens it reboots and the drive is not in the boot menu. I have to turn the PC off for about 5 min for it to show up again.
Any help would be amazing.
Thanks,
Cameron
