Question SSD disk replacement

Right now I have Toshiba BG3 Series 256GB SSD KBG30ZMV256G NVMe M.2 2280 PCI-E drive in my laptop and the one I want to buy is SAMSUNG SSD M.2 NVME 1TB EVO 970
, what worries me is the input itself and the difference at the end of the SSD drive itself, does that play a role, the Toshiba is the one I currently have while the Samsung SSD is the one I want to upgrade ? As far as I can see, they have different entrances at the end? Will I be able to install a Samsung SSD?

What is the make/model of the laptop? As both are NVME m.2 2280 drives, the 970 should work, unless the laptop's port is different for some reason.

Go here and run the scanner if it shows a standard nvme m.2 2280 you should be good with the 970.

I found this. If your system does indeed have a 2.5" drive bay, I would just pick up a 2.5" SSD for extra storage, and leave your NVME alone. It can sometimes be a pain to move your OS to a new NVME drive, on laptops as you need some kind of external device to do it. Not a big deal if you intend to do a fresh install of windows when you upgrade.
