So, I recently updated an old HDD Drive to SSD, however unlike my other PC which was a clean build, this particular upgrade was a clone job. The old HDD was a 300GB Blade HDD (280GB usable) and was upgraded to a spare 480GB HyperX SSD. I did the clone with little issue (bear in mind, this was my first time cloning a drive) however I noticed that as soon as it was complete, that I appeared to be missing about 200GB.

I assume what I've done is clone everything, including the storage profile, however I was wondering whether regaining the 200GB is possible without formatting the drive or completing a clean install of windows?

Solution
Please post a screencap of your Disk Management window.
I'm suspecting the C partition equals the size of the original partition on the old drive. Leaving a big unused space to the right.

This happens quite often with that cloning process.

I suggest 2 actions:

1. Run WinDirStat. That will tell you exactly whats on your disk (but not the shadowstorage).
2. For the shadowstorage, go to Start > Computer > right click and go to Properties > System protection (in the left pane on top) > System protection tab > highlight the D drive > configure > and what is the number behind "current usage"
