Can I put a SSD drive on the same SATA controller as my DVD drive?
My system only has 4 SATA ports and one is for the DVD And the other 2 are being used my 2 SATA 2 & 3 TB drives.
so will this work or would I be better off moving one of the SATA HD to the controller with the DVD on it.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

OK Thanks, sorry I posted in the wrong section, thought I was in storage, and when I realized my mistake, I could not find my post and did not have the time to go looking for it.

Trying to reinstall win 7 and running into problem because it is a 2 tb drive. Some suggested installing to SSD, so thought I would try that.

Well, if you install it to the 2T drive you should partition it as GPT rather than MBR. However, you can install to the SSD as well. What I would do is remove the other two drives from the scenario until you're done loading so that you don't get the special 100 megabyte system partition on any drive other than the SSD.

Thanks for all your help Knight, I did install my SSD on the last and only remaining open SATA port and removed both my drives and windows installed just fine, now I need to put the 2 drives back in and start reinstalling all my programs.
I just set up a duel boot so I can still access the old windows if I need to retrieve anything, once I have everything set up I will reformat the drive that used to hold my windows and use it as an additional storage drive.
I do have the 3 TB formatted as GPT, since it is not my boot drive, a tech at Seagate advised me to that when I bought the drive.
