SSD Driver installation

I've looked and do not see this answer. When installing a new SSD drive SATAIII 60GB 6Gb/s transfer - what is the proper sequence to install drivers and connect into 6Gb/s port? In past I have installed Windows 7 on SSD and installation drivers while SSD is connected to the 3Gb/s port. Then moved the drive to the 6Gb/s port. Is that the proper procedure? I asked the wrong question. I mean - I install Windows 7 and the SATA III controllers for the 6Gb/s SATA III port while the new SSD is connected to a SATA III 3Gb/s port.

Then I switch the drive to the 6Gb/S port. Is that the correct procedure? I did not mean SSD driver controllers, but the controllers for the proper port to run the SSD SATA III 6Gb/s hard drive.
