Hello, i am owner of SSD Samsung 840 Evo that just erased himself completely and lost alot of my work!
I tried to get my work back with EaseUS recovery tool and finds nothing,

How this could happen, let me tell you first what could be the problem, on my other PC i had hard disk that i wanted to put into my PC, while i forgot about dual boot, the PC tried to boot from hard disk, so i went OK, i shut down PC, put hard disk out, and then i tried back normal boot when i got blue screen, and then restarted and said BOOTMSGR is missing, i went WTF?, then i put recovery DISK in drive and did not find any windows only EMPTY SSD where i can install new windows, then i tried to use EASEUS recovery tool and it finds empty SSD, nothing there, like it was never used.

SSD's can fail just like any other drive, only instead of mechanical issues it is usually the controller that fails or corrupts translation tables due to faults in the wear leveling process.

That doesn't mean your data is gone, but it does mean you'll need a data recovery lab that can do a rebuild from the bare chips if necessary.

What version of windows was on SSD?
What version of recovery disk was used?
XP probably will not like a gpt partitioned disk
It will see a MBR disk with nothing on it

Unless you triggered a ATA low level format which is not something you can do easily the data probably is still there
It is possible to view a hard disk with a sector editor which will show if data still exists

There are options on many recovery programs to search sectors of hard disk for evidence of office or picture files provide the files are small they can be copied over to a different hard disk.

A windows format where quick is not ticked can wipe disk beyond recovery
Do not panic !

I had win 7 and recovery disk was as well win 7 same.
I dont know how could i triger ATA format while i didnt rly do nothing like that, no formating at all.

So what program you recomend for sectors?

TestDisk PhotoRec. From cgsecurity.org. ( PhotoRec. For file recovery )
Recuva from Piriform

Both free and well regarded

But not sure if they will run on a un partitioned un formatted drive

If not clone drive and work on clone so expert can still work on original drive if you don't get any ware yourself

Testdisk will look for partitions

Dude, this is an SSD. the logical sectors and physical blocks are not linearly associated like on a hard drive.
The controller maintains translation tables in a randomized scheme for wear leveling purposes.

Everything you recommended doesn't apply to SSD's at all. They don't have "sectors" to be scanned and you can't do a sector by sector clone like a hard drive when the controller is having problems.

Standard data recovery software like Easus, Recuva, etc...will get you nowhere in this case.

I would send it to a lab that can do SSD recovery, but yes it might cost a whole lot if the controller can't be accessed or is failing.

HOWEVER, you can at least get a free diagnostic done and then you'll know for sure.

That way if it is not a physical issue, you just ask for your drive and I'll help you through your other options.

Basically you're trying to rule out physical failure if you can first.
