I "inherited" a vaio s series (vpcsa36gg) which has a 256gb SSD (RAID0) which was running an old version of windows 10 pro until i updated it recently.
Note that the previous owner hasn't made any partitions on the drive, whatever's there is original
Problem 1
The first screen you get at bootup shows error port 1 drive (https://ibb.co/jKmrmF)
So i download speccy and it turns out that the size of the drive in port 1 is very small (https://ibb.co/hFEoYv), only 100mb but that particular drive is "system reserve" (https://ibb.co/cF4Y0a). The C drive is fine.
Note that it shows that the disk is healthy. I tried right clicking and scanning it for errors but nothing happens when i click "scan". No popup.
I tried chkdsk with only /f and /r but it said that it cant lock the current drive because its in use. It does start when i turn my laptop again but i dont get any reports or anything. I also ended up doing recovery but the problem still persists. I havent had any issues while using the laptop, but everything is backed up just in case.
Any software I run doesnt show any problem at all. But thats not all.
Problem 2
I cant optimise ANY drives. I checked from device manager and drivers are up to date. And yet, i get this (https://ibb.co/c6jNtv).
If there was any way to solve these problems without buying a new ssd, that would be nice since I already have to spend a money on battery and a new 4gb RAM.
Edit: so I ended up downloading 'Intel rapid storage technology software' driver and it was able to detect the problem but the only progress I've made is mark the drive as 'normal' so the software would be able to read/wrote it now.
Also, it has Been pointed out to me that I'm confusing partition with drives and I realise that's a mistake I've made.
