Well, there's tons of topics on this, but I cant fix this issue on mine.

only windows 10 on there and Arma3 with some mods
(I move mods around from HDD to SSD, to be able to play different servers nowadays)

pagefile is a solid 8 GB, always has been and thats fine.
no restore points to delete
no hibernation active
no onedrive installed

this is what usually happens:
I needed to download an update, or w/e, clear up 2 or 3 gb with deleting stuff like MS store, the cardgames, all small crappy stuff, running ccleaner, deleting obsolete game mods, etc.
every time it is filled to the brim almost immediately again.
Now I'm at the point I can't delete anything anymore from my C:\ / SSD.
and if I could, it would be full within seconds anyway..
been an issue for ages, googled/tried stuff for ages, to no avail.

I just got an extra SSD a buddy of mine had spare, but I'm at the point like, if I install it, put Arma3 on there, it would be full within a day again? Feels like Microsoft doesnt like me and floods my SSD with black magic stuff. I couldnt even install a disk diagnostic tool of 9mb just now.. (I checked that before, didnt see anything strange, hidden files?!)

hands in hair

128 GB
no restore points to remove

I just now deleted a mod of 1 GB, not even able to DL 100 MB with that free space, Im going nuts.
0 bytes free again, cant DL windirstat, but in the past that didnt show me anything useful

Well...as is currently seen, a 128GB drive is a bit small.
Reduce your pagefile down to 1GB min/max.
Run WinDirStat
Show us the output.

thanks for the imput

using windows defender, couldnt find anything wrong..

how does reinstalling work when you went from win7 on CD to a downloaded win10?

Set min/max page file to 1GB - if you have 8GB ram no need for a big page file.

On disk cleanup, be sure to do the advanced option to nuke old system files:
http://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-clean-up-system-files-with-the-windows-10-disk-cleanup-tool/

Do you have iTunes installed by chance?

Edit: USAFRet types faster than I do :)

the drive is filling up and I think it may be a virus. The only way is a complete system reinstall. Only way to beat a virus. Now it may be something else but once he reinstalled he will know one way or another.

Well, it may be a virus.
But lets not nuke the thing until we are sure that is the case.

pbo's now "only" 49 gb.. must have something to do with this..

yup, arma is going to the 'new' SSD

I'll give it a day, but I think it was steam having stuff double or something like that?

thanks for your time and imput guys! really apreciated.

well, yes, but arma3 is a class by itself.. base game is 'only' 22gb, worked ok for a while 😉
think its mainly because steam downloads/workshop items behave a bit weird.. like I deleted some stuff from the workshop and it seemed it took a while to really remove them. Also it will download an updated mod without deleting the original mod, and you always need to download the whole mod again.
but, yes. Arma3 is def. going from this SSD. Don't let steam handle stuff on your (small) main OS SSD I guess 😉
Thanks again guys.
(not closing the topic till I installed the other SSD, need to buy a power cable/splitter and data cable for that, update tuesday(ish)).
still got 16 GB free. Prolly temp. internet files from watching streams. And if not, I'll be back.
