I am thinking of installing a SSD in my wife's computer. This will be a stand alone. About all she does is surf the web, listen to music (I pod) and play the simple games on the computer. She only has a few programs installed. She does some photo editing on Paint Shop Pro. However, she doesn't store tons of photos on her hard drive. I was thinking of around 250 GB. This would last her for years and years as far as space available is concerned. If anyone thinks this is feasible I would appreciate any suggestions as to make and model.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

It is feasible. I built my computer Nov 2011 about the time harddrive prices went through the roof. (Due to the flooding in Taiwan) I operated for 6 months with just an SSD and a External harddrive.

That being said a mechanical hd is not that expensive. You can get a TB for under $100.

By your SSD using this as a guide.
