For the past year I have run my SSD for my OS and had a HDD for music and documents.

Last night I had my computer crash on me and I began getting error 0xc000185. This error prevents all my software from loading.

I am going to do a secure erase on my SSD and reinstall windows. Here's my question:

Can I leave my HDD untouched (music and documents still on it) and access it once I get the fresh OS install done on the SSD?

Hey there, cam024!

I believe the fresh re-installation of Windows should do the job. You definitely don't have to reformat the storage HDD as well, but make sure you unplug it from the motherboard while you are reinstalling Windows on the SSD. Otherwise, you are risking OS confusion which is a rather common mistake that results in boot issues.
After the install is completed, just plug the HDD back and you should be able to access the data on it without any problems.

Hope I was helpful! Best of luck! :)
