Just built a new computer and clean installed Windows 10 on an M.2 500GB NVMe SSD. Any suggestion on what’s best to keep the OS running clean and well?

Should I install the programs I want to use on the same drive or on the spare M.2 NVMe SSD that I will be using as extra storage?
Is there any benefit to keeping the OS isolated from the programs?

Depends on programs used.
Small size programs, that fit on OS drive easily, should be kept on OS drive.
Same for programs, that need to be reinstalled, if windows is reinstalled.

Large size software (like games) should be kept on a different drive.
You don't want to run out of space on OS drive.

I have windows 10 installed in a 120g m.2, I maintain free space between 40-50gb everytime, I keep all the major games outside plus I install only the major programs in the windows m.2. Plus clear the temp files regularly to maintain a healthy space.
