Ssd fried, psu help!

after trying a different psu in my gf system we exidently fried the sdd and hdd... This because we used a cable of her old psu which apperntly doesnt go in the current psu! So the harddrivers are being replaced but should i be concernd about the other components? We put the old psu back and every thing worked and it went to bios, gpu and cpu and ram seems to work fine only the harddrives did not get recognized. How ever i wasnt able.to boot the system with my psu... And now i am kinda confused -_-

a modular cable was used on a different PSU? if so the only damage should be whatever was connected to that cable. I assume it was the HDD and SSD.

I don't know what your financial situation is, but any case of a psu killing hardware is an automatic DQ as far as i'm concerned even if you used the wrong cable. I'd replace the psu as well.

Nope it was a 1070 gpu cable that i sorta smashed in the psu that didnt fit, but that one still works
