SSD gold contacts with marks on them

Hello all,
I must say I am a little noob with computers. I placed my ssd and hdd in different places in the case, and I sometimes have hard time pulling the power sata cables out so I jiggle it a little and pull hard until it comes out.

I noticed that I have black marks on the gold contacts, but the drives works fine as far as I can tell.

is this normal? should I be worried?

Rub a pencil eraser on the gold contacts, it will make them shinny again and probably makes you feel better.

It's perfectly normal. Only thing to watch is some SATA cables have a little metal locking catch on them you need to squeeze to get them off, forcing those would be bad. The ones without the locking mechanism are usually pretty easy to pull off.
