Hello. I just installed my first SSD. A intel 320 120GB.My original HHD was a WD Vraptor 300GB. I want to keep my original HHD and have my SSD. I have windows 7 on both. When installing windows 7 to the new SSD I unplugged the power from all my other drives. I went into my bios and turn on ACHI mode for the SSD windows install. Once windows 7 installed and updated I turned my PC off and made sure thee SSD was number 1 in boot priority. It looked like it was going to load windows then BSOD. My question is it possible to have both the SSD (main) and HHD (old main) both with windows 7 plugged in at the same time..If I want to load the old drive wouldnt I just need to set it the 1st in bott priority? Does having ACHI enabled for the SSD cause a problem when trying to load up my old HHD main? Thanks a million.

Yes it still works with the old HHD. Currently I just unplugged the SSD altogether. So since you have the same set up, do you have to change ACHI back to IDE when you switch to the OS "HDD", then back to ACHI for the SSD?

The SSD worked perfect UNTIL I plugged in the old HDD (which also contains W7) SSW worked just fine until I plugged in the other drive. Which made me thing the ACHI had something to do with it

Don't know what SSW means.
Hold on. Actually, I have my HDD on one of the SATA ports on my mobo that stays IDE. I really thought both were AHCI. Check out your mobo manual or the BIOS. Your last couple of SATA ports are probably still IDE.

Sorry, I meant SSD not SSW. I will have to look at all that when I get home tonight. I only need to change the BIOS to ACHI on the SSD though right? The rest of the drives stay IDE correct? I am thinking maybe I switched the wrong thing in the bios.
