I've got an Asus TUF A15 Gaming Laptop with an RTX 4060 and it only has a 512GB NVMe SSD included.
I wanted to upgrade the RAM to 32GB (easy enough, I've done this on laptops before) and add a
2TB NVMe SSD.

However, to save money I was going to use the Samsung 970 Evo Plus from my desktop PC that has an EK NVMe heatsink attached to it. This makes the SSD a bit "taller" and I don't know how much clearance the laptop shell gives. Does anyone know if it will fit?

Since you own the laptop, disassemble it and you should get a rough estimate of how much clearance you have between the top of the NVMe drive and the base of the cover.

You might be able to get away with it, seeing this video;

though I'm not sure your A15's SKU is the same and the A15 in the video. Lastly, as good as it may seem, the orientation of the SSD and it's heatsink leads me to think that the heatink would heatsoak and in turn cause the SSD to throttle.

Right, I'll keep that in mind. It is the same SKU though so it should fit.
