Can anyone help me decide which one to buy. The OS will be on it and maybe 1 game and a programming IDE (Visual Studio 2013/2015). I found in the Internet that both are generally the same, but maybe more important is which will last longer. Thanks in advance!

Solution
the difference isn't noticeable at all, get the cheapest one .
if u want a difference notice get the samsung 850 evo. and even than the difference might be only 3s in booting up.

So even though a solution has been chosen I figured I would post this for anyone else with the same quandary, I'm also currently choosing between the two and will likely go with the sandisk as a result of the two links I'm posting. The sandisk according to ssd.userbenchmark seems to have better overall performance across the board.

Did you purchase a Sandisk Ultra II? If so, How do you like it and any problems so far?

I just purchased the Ultra II 240g model which uses the same memory and marvel controller. the larger models use a different marvel controller.

I imagine my drive would be very similar to yours and I am very impressed with boot time and performance. I am very happy with this and am using it as my boot\OS drive with Win 7 pro x64.

The one thing that bothers me are the buyer reviews with this Sandisk line.

a lot of the reviews go something like this --"Was amazing until it died"

Reviews of suddenly died after 2 weeks, Suddenly died after 7 months.

I hate having this stuck it the back of my head.

The only advice i can give is keep frequent backups, as you should anyway.
I use Acronis 2014(which I used to clone my platter without any issues. Booted right up). Macrium Reflect should be just as useful. Minitool partion wizard is also a great free boot utility to resize, ect partition. It has more features than Acronis Disk Director and is free which is a plus
