SSD in slimline sata

I want to install ssd in place of optical drive(laptop). does the performance of ssd installed in regular 15pin sata port and slimline sata 7pin be same?

Yes it is all sata. Depending on the laptop the DVD drive may be limited to SATA2 though. In my experience with them though my laptop always crashed with a drive in the DVD Slot.
