Question SSD install fail

So I got a new SSD. I used Samsung Data Migration to start copying the data over. After 30m it still said 0%, so I clicked cancel and restarted my PC.

‘Windows failed to start.’

Damn.

I advise folks to always backup any and/or all critical data off the drive, before you proceed to reinstall the OS. Data Migration Tools for me have been hit or miss. I's for that reason that I clean install the OS onto a new drive(or boot drive) and make sure I've retrieved all valuable data off the drive if I'm adding in a new storage drive.

I've haven't used Magician in many years but back then the first thing it said to do was to backup the system.

Have they stopped recommending this step?

Return the system back to original condition...without the SSD.
