I installed and performed a fresh install on my new SSD, but I am not sure if AHCI is active. In the BIOS in System Configuration it says:

SATA Port 1-4: AHCI
SATA Port 5-6: AHCI

but then when I check in the Boot section the drive is listed as IDE:Samsung SSD 84.

In addition, Samsung Magician says that AHCI is not activated:

The read/write benchmarks seem rather low:

and in Device Manager I see no AHCI controllers:

My motherboard is ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, the port used was Port 5 (which is a 6 GB/s port) and I used a SATA 3 6GB/s cable.

Anyoen able to tell me if I do have AHCI enabled?

Solution
run an AS-SSD benchmark. In the top left of the windows will be two lines of interest.

Line 3 is your driver which should be amd_sata or ahcix64x. If you have one of these you are fine and it should say -ok after it.

Line 4 is your offset any numbers here are ok as long as it says -ok after it.

Magician doesnt really work well with AMD chipsets...

I ran AS-SSD Benchmark, and here are the results:

So, just to confirm the SSD is in AHCI mode and is working correctly?

Anyone know why the 4k read/write values are so low?

EDIT: Just checked the reg value in regedit and Start = 0. So that also supports AHCI being active.
