Question SSD internal storage drive disappearing

I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro yesterday and followed all the guidelines I read here about disconnecting all other drives during the install. I reconnected the drives after the install was complete.

One bug I am running into a lot is that one of my internal storage drives, a fairly new Samsung 860 EVO keeps disappearing: it's like it suddenly drops.

Sometimes it reappears on its own, sometimes after a reboot.

And what's weird is that sometimes Windows recognizes it as removable storage.

I already swapped a new SATA cable in, just in case.

I have two internal HDD storage drives and one other SSD storage drive and those have been fine, as has the SSD boot drive.

Any ideas?

Make and model SSD?

Remember there are two cables: data and power....

Have you tried running the manufacturer's diagnostic software?

Also update your post to include full system hardware specs.

Include PSU , the second SSD and the two HDD's - make and model information.

Thanks, Ralston.

I'll post the rest of the specs, but the basics are in my sig. The quirky drive is the Samsung 860 EVO, which I bought in 2019 and was in the same motherboard SATA port where it is now (same PSU connector as well). Have never had any issues.

The PSU is stock.
