"$29 billion and 352 million units in 2022"
$82.39 per unit
"to $67 billion and 472 million units in 2028"
$141.95 per unit
I don't know about that. Not doubting that the amount of sold units may increase (especially when taking away from sales of HDDs), but not so sure that many a client would care to go for 4+ TB drives, especially with the proliferation of increased internet connection bandwidth.
I mean, I am one of those who is considering to get a 4 TB drive, and then has one M.2 Gen5 slot left. But it is not that high on my hardware priority list, in particular as I then would have spent more on the drives than on CPU+GPU. And being able to switch to a 1000 Mbps connection, with which the download of a 100 GB game takes around 14 minutes, that's a lot of bandwidth even if I wanted to play every day a different such game.
