SSD Migrating Programs?

So I had a fault with my OS which caused me to reinstall a fresh copy on a new SSD, the old SSD won't boot so I'm trying to move all the files/programs/AV software/etc from the old SSD to the new SSD so that I can format the old one so that I may repurpose it.

I wanna do this to hopefully save some time, save some hassle and save keys which I have paid for, for software (and wont have to pay for them again because the software will assume it's a fresh install on another PC).

I have downloaded Acronsis Migrate Easy, however it seems it clones the entire drive (OS included) and not just the file and programs that I want, so I'm looking for some advice on how I can do this effectively!

Thanks,
John

Hi. You're best off simply making a copy of all of the files you want to keep and pasting them on the new SSD. I have done this in the past and as long as the drive is the same Letter value, you shouldn't have an issue!

Do you mean just copying all the files in the "program files" folder(s) and either changing the drive letter or the regedit to match? I'm a little hesitant to try this method, because I haven't done this before, also what can I do about drivers, do I have to reinstall them or can I copy?

Any drivers and programs you'll have to reinstall along with Windows, but actual files you can simply make a copy, transfer to an external drive and when you format the new SSD, make it the same drive letter as the old one. Not that it will matter if its an OS drive and you're reinstalling windows?
