Question SSD / Motherboard compatibility ?

Is the Samsung 990 Pro SSD compatible with the MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard ?

I’ve already looked it up and it says it works but I’ve done this before with different combinations and it did not work. I don’t really understand how PCIe lanes work and don’t want anything bottlenecking/held back, will everything work at full speed?

The CPU & GPU will be an i7-13700K and a 3080 if that helps any.

Unless you are doing transfers between nvme drives over PCIE or thunderbolt to nvme drive transfers anything over gen 4 is currently a waste. There’s not really significant difference between 3 and 4 atm. Nothing will be “bottle necked” with a PCIE drive
