Good afternoon,

I'm planning to buy a laptop, the MSI GE70 2QE Apache Pro, because I will start studying in an university next month and I need a new one (my old one is struggling even with chrome). This laptop doesn't come with an SSD so I'm planning to add one and I was thinking about this one: KINGSTON SSDNOW S200 60GB MSATA. I contacted the PC store and they told me that installing the SSD, in the MSI notebooks, doesn't affect the warranty. My question is, is this SSD compatible and how easy it is to install it? If its not hard I could do it myself (this way I could save some coins) and I am kind of afraid to damaging something.

And of course, is an SSD worth installing in this laptop? Will I notice heavy differences? Because I was in doubt between and SSD or an pen drive with 32 or 64gb to store my stuff and If the SSD doesn't improve the speed in programs (like Photoshop, 3D or programming) I think I will go with the pen drive.

Thanks in advance

Yes that will work. 60GB is kinda small though. You WILL how ever either have to 1) Clone your existing hard drive to the SSD and then wipe the hard drive and use it for storage or 2) Install windows fresh. Otherwise it would be pointless to install a SSD for just programs/files and not the OS
