Wanting to use single SSD in my new gaming rig. I understand the why SSDs boot faster, but do not understand the difference between

Is one better than the other and why?

One is a standard 2.5 inch drive form factor, the other is M.2 form factor. Both are SATA 3 speed. It really comes down to if you motherboard/computer can support the M.2 or if you even want to use it. They will perform the same.
