I have already tried looking in the BIOS to see if the SSD would be detected there. The SSD has worked for 8-12 months before it suddenly just....died. I was away from the computer for a bit while on Steam and when I came back, the computer had restarted itself and said that there was no bootable drive. The SSD contained the OS and another 1TB WD HDD contained most, if not all of the files. I'm not sure what else to do. I have checked all of the SATA cables and power cables and nothing seems to be wrong. It can detect the WD HDD but not the SSD. The SSD is a PNY Prevail Elite. 120 GB

I belive its is RIP for the drive like the other op said try resetting the bios first I have a OCZ less then a few months old I was doing rebuilds all the time it just lose all info as a slave drive not a main it has been flawless... good luck to you,

The only other PCs I have are too old to support SSD, I believe, and I have no SATA>USB cables. I reset the BIOS to default settings and nothing has worked. The BIOS doesn't seem to detect it at all. What comes off as strange to me though is the fact that the drive just....died.
