[SOLVED] SSD not detected

I was halfway through a fresh install of windows from a recovery disk onto a SSD when the computer hung up on one file, I waited 90 mins or so but there was no response and I was left with no option other than to power off the computer.

Now the SSD can no longer be detected, either by the bios or by windows disk management.
It doesn't even shop up in the bootable devices list.
I've tried the disk in another machine, and same story.

What could be the issue here?
It's a relatively new SSD, and I've done one clean install of windows on it in the past on a different machine which worked fine and was then not used until now.

It's a "Londisk aurora"

Not a brand I'd heard of before, but the reviews on amazon seem generally good.
Someone posted this on there;

"This has the SM2258G chipset and having searched the firmware version and compared PCBs I can confirm this is a Kingdian S280 re-badged. Benchmarks are slightly below my crucial MX500 SSD but WAAAAY better than the Kingston A400"
