SSD not recognized in bios and will not boot

So I've had my PC built and running fine for some time now when all of the sudden it freezes. I do a hard reset and now Windows 7 won't boot nor does the bios recognise the SSD at all. I've tried just about everything I can think of and find. Tested all the sata ports on my storage HDD and it recognizes them. I reset the cmos. occasionally when I restart the pc the bios will see the ssd and try to boot Windows but then get stuck at the loading screen. After which it isn't recognized again. When I try to boot in safe mode on the rare times it does see the ssd, the loading gets stuck on avgdisha.sys and then goes to bsod. Can avg really be what's stopping the sad from being seen in the bios? Or is it a defective ssd? I haven't been able to try doing a Windows repair/recovery since I don't have another machine nearby and I'm writing this via my phone. As far as my system goes I am using a MSI 970 gaming motherboard, AMD Radeon SSD for my OS and a WD hdd for storage.

Sorry to hear about your issues with the system! Yes, it is totally possible that the anti-virus software is causing this or at least that's what the avgdisha.sys error indicates.
You can try resetting BIOS back to its default settings using one of the methods listed here: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
You should also go to the anti-virus software and see if there are any repair tools you can download to troubleshoot.

Thanks for the advice, I reset my bios using a cmos battery reset but it still didn't make the ssd visible in the boot order. I am currently downloading the avg rescue CD to boot from a usb along with my windows 7 to just clean install the OS if all else fails and i'll give them a show when I get home from work.

After trying the avg rescue CD method to change the name of certain files, my ssd isn't even being recognized there. Any other recommendations before I trash the drive and get a new one?

I'd suggest to try the fresh install first, just make sure you have backed up any important files from the HDD and also unplug the HDD until the clean installation is completed on the SSD. I'd not trash the SSD just yet, though. I'd connect the HDD somewhere else, backup the data and re-format it. Perform a full format on it using the Data LifeGuard Diagnostics to write zeros (FULL ERASE). This will erase the hard drive entirely. If Windows still refuses to install on that SSD, I'd do a full format on it as well. However, there are SSD-specific tools for that. Check this article: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-securely-erase-an-ssd-drive/

Only after I've tried all of these, I'd get back to the manufacturer's tech support and ask for a replacement of that SSD.
