Hello all,
First of all i would like to say i have spent nearly 3-4 hours following ALL guides posted in the sticky on optimization and everything is up to date. I have the Corsair Force GT 90GB SSD which is advertised at 555 MB/s read and 505 MB/s Write. I ran HDTune and am only getting about 417 MB/s max for my read, and cant test the write. Does anyone have any input on making it perform quicker?
My mobo is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128435

Two of the "usual suspects" when getting less-than expected SSD speed: check that your SSD is on a SATA-3 port (not a 3Gbps SATA-2 port) and verify that AHCI is selected as the controller mode in BIOS.

If you've already installed Windows and find your controller mode in BIOS is IDE, there is a Registry tweak you need to make before you change BIOS to ACHI, otherwise you won't be able to boot into Windows.

[edited to add:] Try a different SATA cable and a different SATA-3 port. Not all SATA cables are created equal, and it's not unknown for a port to be defective.

The Force GT is not among the fastest units. In the 120 size, the Force GT is Tier 6 and the fastest are at Tier 3 which represents a 33% difference according to the link below:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-review-benchmark,3139-6.html

Tier 3 (120/128GB Size)

Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 120 GB
OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 120 GB
Patriot WildFire 120 GB
Samsung 830 SSD 128 GB

Tier 6 (120/128GB Size)

Adata S511 120 GB
Corsair Force GT 120 GB
Kingston HyperX SSD 120 GB
OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB

SO people were wrong on Newegg reviews when most of said they were getting FASTER times than advertised? Also, im pretty sure all of my ports are Sata, and how do i tell if its plugged into Intel or Marvell? There like 3 sets of 2 Sata ports stacked on top of eachother and i plugged my SSD into the first slot SATA0_3 i think is what it was.
