My laptop randomly started crashing yesterday and it ends up on bios where i noticed all my storage ports come up as empty but if i save and exit sometimes it boots up normally and everything is fine i can use my Drives, no data has disappeared and I can use all my apps.
Something like this has happened before and i had to change the hdd and do a clean install of windows after that things were fine for months.
So
I ran disk check everything came up fine
I used samsung magician to find errors but before it reaches the end of its scan the system crashes(although the short scans come up fine).
I tried to reset windows but it couldn't complete that either.
Config:
Asus F560ud
samsung 860 Evo1tb Sata 2.5" ssd

Follow the below steps & see if that fixes the issue:
  1. Go to This PC and right-click on the SSD drive and select its Properties
  2. Click the Tools tab and then select the Check button under Error-checking
  3. If the ‘Error Checking’ dialog box reports no errors click Cancel or else click Scan Drive
  4. If no error is found again, then click Cancel
  5. If the ‘Error Checking’ dialog box reports repair this drive, then click Repair drive
It showed no error but as soon as the process finished I ended up back on the bios screen.
