Hi,

My boot drive (500GB WD SATA drive that's ~4 years old) is starting to show signs of wear (the system doesn't recognize it at boot sometimes). So, I was thinking of upgrading to an SSD; the ones I am considering of are below - both are on for $100.

1. Does anyone have experience with these?
2. Are they approximately equivalent?
3. Is there another deal I should be looking at?

Corsair Force Series 3, 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Disk Drive 550MB/s Read 490MB/s Write, includes 2.5" to 3.5" bracket (CSSD-F60GB3-BK)

OCZ (AGT3-25SAT3-60G) Agility 3 2.5" 60GB SATA3 6GB/s Solid State Drive, Read: 525MB/s, Write: 475MB/s

Thank you in advance,
Scott

The GT seems to be ~1.5x's the price of what I was looking for; looks like a better drive, but I expect the cheap one is all I'll need since my mobo likely only has SATA 1 anyways.

Thanks for the information; that's a very useful link.

Seems to show the Corsair as outperforming the OCZ - very interesting considering I was leaning towards the OCZ.

I ended up the Corsair Force 3 60GB, and am very happy with it so far. I expect I would have had the same result with any SSD though.

Thanks for all the input.
