I currently use a 1TB Hybrid and have been wanting to get an SSD. I'm just trying to decide on spending the money and going for a 1TB SSD or going smaller/cheaper and just getting a 250/500GB SSD boot drive and using my hybrid as the storage drive.

I am starting to stream on twitch and will be getting a capture card (internal). Giving these which do you think is a better option and why?

Thank you in advance,
Robert

Ideally we would be at a time where we can discard HDDs and only have SSDs. Its not too far away.
I like drives not to be multitasking so i recommend a 250gb SSD for o/s and the hybrid for storage.
Ideally youd have:
c: 250gb SSD o/s
d: 500-1tb SSD
~
f: HDD storage / slow playback

Hey there, Robert!

You'd definitely notice some improvement in terms of performance with an SSD, especially for boot and high-end applications. The SSHD, as you already know, can outperform any standard traditional hard drive, but I'm afraid you won't be pleased with its performance as a secondary storage. It all comes down to how frequently you will be using the programs/software you have stored on the hybrid. You know that the most frequently used ones will load from the SSD cache, whereas everything else will load with the HDD's native transfer speed.
I'd second what @fred suggested and use only SSDs if you desire outstanding performance in terms of transfer rate. However, don't forget to use AT LEAST one HDD as an off-site backup for all your files. Better safe than sorry, right?

Good luck! Hope I was helpful! :)
