I was willing to buy a xpg sx8200 pro 512Gb ssd for long time. Now, I saw some offering of sshd, 1Tb firecuda with Malaysia Ringgit (RM260) around $65 and 1Tb Samsung 860 QVO for $100 in amazon. I'm now having WD10SPZX-75Z10T1 Western Digital 1Tb HDD in my laptop, and I can't decide whether upgrade only a xpg m.2 ssd or upgrade along my HDD. Can anyone give me some suggestion? and if upgrade my HDD, which one should I buy, Firecuda or 860QVO?

Solution
Firecudas are not great performers, and a true SSD is much faster. I would buy the SATA ssd, as they are cheaper than nvme and sata ssds are still insanely fast compared to the firecuda or really any mechanical drive. Your laptop does support nvme and likely sata m.2 drives, but they aren't much faster, nothing noticeable in most tasks. https://www.dell.com/community/Insp...5-Gaming-7757-support-a-nVME-SSD/td-p/6108143

Wouldn't bother with Firecuda. 5200rpm drive with 8GB worth of nand flash so only boot and some light most used applications would benefit. If you game, it will have little affect.

What model is your laptop and can it take m2 stick let alone boot an os from it?

Sata ssd 1Tb Samsung 860 QVO would give most value and reward and would be my choice.

My laptop is Dell inspiron 15 7577, with only 1Tb HDD and i will transfer my os into that m.2 after i bought it. Mostly my computer usage is gaming (League of Legends, Fortnite and PUBG) and workstation software (Photoshop and Premiere Pro).

I decide to buy xpg sx8200 pro is based on its great R/W speed with only $100 for 512GB. Besides, I would prefer to have 1TB sata ssd if I really decide to change out my hdd to have bigger storage
