Can you backup a SSD image or whole OS to a standard hard drive and use that backup image to the SSD ?

Can you backup a SSD image or whole OS to a standard hard drive and use that backup image to the SSD ?

Any of the current clone/imaging applications will create a drive image, and save that to another drive.
CloneZilla, DriveimageXML, etc.
In case of need, simply restore that image to whatever new drive you get.

This will, theoretically, create a bootable image, on an external HDD
