Media Server: Do I need overprovisioning for the SSD drives I use only to store the media? OS, applications, etc. are on another drive. The storage drives are effectively "Write Once" as a file is added, then only read as a file is retrieved . Files are not changed or written/saved back to the drive. I'm running out of space and would like to recoup some of the 10% currently devoted to OP if practical. Thanks in advance for any insight, it will be greatly appreciated!

Not sure why you are using SSDs for media storage. The additional performance of an SSD is probably wasted. Media streaming on a network or especially WIFI is limited by the network, not the storage device.

Mainly because I already had them on hand. Also because I had a small form factor case they fit in nicely.

Update: I just investigated Samsung Magician more thoroughly, and noticed under "Performance Optimization" that when in "Standard" performance mode, Over Provisioning is disabled by default. So, I'm assuming it is not strictly necessary. I have therefore kept the OS and application drives set to continue using it since they do considerable writing, but have stopped using it on my data drives (and recouped a fair amount of storage space thereby)! 😉 I'll edit this if it appears to affect anything, but so far, so good.
