Question SSD partition in new laptop ?

Hello everyone,
I am planning to buy a new laptop in coming week.
The laptop has a 1TB NVMe SSD. I want to create its partition so that my data will remain safe in case of system crash or window reinstall.

I am planning to keep C drive around 250gb and create 2-3 more partition for remaining space using shrink volume option (seen a video on youtube on how to create partition)
I want to know is their any negative impact of making partition or will it cause any issues in my laptop ?

What laptop are you looking at? You could add a secondary SSD to the laptop and have the OS on it? I personally tend to not create multiple partitions on an SSD to retain as much performance on it as possible but in some very niche scenarios I am forced to create a total of 2 partitions on an SSD for a PC/laptop.

C drive being about 150 or so GB's while the rest is left as D drive. I also tend to use EASEUS Partition Manager for my tasks.

No negative impact, but won´t get your data more safe in case of emergency.

If the main partition is too small, could get in trouble with performance issues

Don't forget to back up your data to the drive if any hardware-related problem occurs then there is a chance of having a negative impact on partition.

I keep backing up my data to a external hard drive on monthly basis. I only want to confirm whether making 2-3 partition from c drive on new laptop will cause any problems or not

250GB is too small for windows and multiple partitions. By the time it's formatted it's already down to 232GB and after windows are installed well under 200GB and that's just bare windows 10 or 11. Windows require at least 20-30GB free on C partition for proper operation and all SSDs minimum 10-15% free on whole disk for Trim, Garbage collection and Wear leveling for longer life. That's without any programs installed. If you are doing regular full disk backup(I do automatically daily) data and OS are safer than on single disk. Even if you have to reinstall windows you can just copy that little data that can fit in small left over space back on.
I wouldn't recommend OS disk partitioning under 1TB.
