SSD PCIe 3.0x2 into a PCIe 3.0x4 slot?

Hello guys,

was thinking of upgrading a Lenovo Y-520 Legion laptop with an m.2 SSD, However i checked more and it seems that the slot is an m.2 PCIe 3.0 x 4 , if i get a PCIe 3.0 x 2 SSD will it be incompatible or bottle-necked by the slot?

No the slot has MORE potential bandwidth than the device. An x4 slot is "greater" than an x2 device and is fully compatible.
